I am a big fan of DIY headboards. I have been looking for inspiration for both my master bedroom and my guest bedroom. I prefer a “do it yourself” headboard versus purchasing one, because it will save you a lot of money and will also create a bigger statement. Need inspiration for your DIY Headboard? I found some really great projects below:
A feed sack has been stapled to a piece of plywood along with some batting and foam. For an extra touch, a salvaged architectural element is added to the top of the headboard.
I shared this DIY headboard with my Facebook followers a couple of weeks ago. I am in love with everything about this bedroom. The owners repurposed an old fence to make the headboard.

This DIY headboard was made from an old mantel.
If you already have a headboard, try painting it a bold color for a brand new look.
Two old doors are used for a farmhouse styled headboard. Can’t find aged doors like this? Find any wooden doors at a salvage yard, then coat them with a layer of paint. Age them with rough sandpaper.
I LOVE this idea. Use starched fabric to create a one of a kind DIY headboard. Super inexpensive and easy to make! Click the link for a great tutorial!
Use artwork as your headboard, like this extra large canvas.
Even a small decorative element is enough to be a makeshift headboard, and draw the eye toward the focal point of the room.
