I’m still in organization mode, so I thought I would share some DIY Garage Organization:
Attach shelves to a pegboard or to your garage walls. Or purchase a freestanding shelve unit. This is an easy way to store different items, instead of leaving them on the floor. You can also store shoes and boots on shelves to keep mud or snow out of your home. There are many storage options available for midsize and large garages. Schaefer Systems specializes in heavy duty shelving and large storage cabinets.
Attach a pegboard to your garage wall. This way you can easily attach all your garden and lawn supplies for easy access. This is a great way to utilize vertical space in order to save room for other things (like your car).
Use an inexpensive magnetic knife holder to hold paint brushes and other tools like wrenches and screw drivers. This is an easy way to keep your tools organized and easily accessible!
This is a really inexpensive way to organize balls. Attach bungee cords
to wooden shelves for easy organization.
This is a sure way to make certain that everything has its’ place! An outline of each tool is drawn onto the garage wall. Attach a nail to each picture for easy hanging. Also notice the shelf in this picture. Lids to canisters are attached beneath the shelf for storage of nails, screws, etc. (much like the idea for my pantry organization post).
I really love the idea of keeping storage on a garage ceiling! This one is a little more intricate, but if you’re handy (or know someone who is) check out the tutorial for these overhead hanging storage bins!

These are all fabulous ideas…LOVE the one with the bungees for ball storage. And those bins on the ceiling are genius!! Would be delighted for you to link up with us at Mop It Up Mondays (going on through Friday): http://www.ishouldbemoppingthefloor.com/2012/02/mop-it-up-mondays-party-2.html

Thanks Kristi! I will definitely link up, thanks!
I’m loving all these ideas. I’m going to have to show my husband this post tonight.
Thanks Jodi!
Thanks for the ideas. I especially like using a magnetic knife holder for paint brushes. The bristles on mine always get crumpled in the bin.
I know – mine too, and paint brushes are not cheap! haha
These are some amazing ideas! I can’t wait to try the magnetic strips for paint brushes. I have ruined way to many brushes.
I would love it if you would share this at the Smart Solutions linky party. You can link up here:
