DIY: How to Make Your Own Hurricane Vase

Today I am going to show you how to make your own hurricane vases, like the ones below, sold at Pottery Barn:

These glasses cost anywhere from $39 to $54 a piece! Mine cost $2.16.

Materials:

  • Glass candlesticks
  • Glass vases
  • Gorilla Glue
  • Toothpick

I bought both my vase and candlestick at the dollar store for $1 a piece! You can choose any kind of vase for a different look. Experiment with different shapes and sizes. You can also find these at thrift stores, garage sales, etc. for cheap.

1) Dip your toothpick in a dab of Gorilla Glue and lightly trace the top of the candle stick with it. The glue dries white, so if you add too much it will show!

2) Dampen the bottom of the vase with a cloth. Carefully place the candle stick on top of the bottom of the vase. Be sure that it is centered correctly.

3) Let it sit for 24 hours to dry.

I will be doing tutorials all month, so be sure to come back for more how-to’s!
