Trash to Treasure: Upcycled Mirror
I am starting a series called Trash to Treasure. In this series I will be discussing different items that I have upcycled, like this upcycled mirror. This will not include my furniture, but smaller items like vintage mirrors, frames, really anything that I can upcycle into something new! My furniture will continue to be in the Before and After archives. I am hoping by the end of next month I will have my entire furniture inventory online as well.
This brings me to my latest find. I found this vintage mirror for only $25.00. This thing is heavy and huge! It would cost well over $100 if I bought it brand new.
It was really plain, but all it needed was a coat of paint and some distressing (of course). It’s also reflecting furniture projects I was working on at the time, ha).
After:
I wanted it to look really scratched up and aged. All I did was paint it black, distress it heavily with sandpaper, making sure to get all the edges. Then I coated it with sealer. I can’t wait to hang this upcycled mirror above my new buffet I’m working on for the dining room.
