There is something about everything being in the right place that makes me feel at ease. From the junk drawer to the kitchen pantry, even if these unseen areas are in disarray I feel a little anxious.
In light of the upcoming new year, I have been reorganizing and decluttering my home. Here are some ideas to organize your pantry without spending a lot of money: (Be sure to check out the links to the original sources!)
I love these labeled canisters for storing oatmeal, rice, etc. Using uniform canisters, tins, or jars is visually appealing and makes your shelves look more organized.
How clever is this? She used a magazine rack to hold smaller cans of vegetables and tomato sauce. To hold in the cans she used flattened out bobbi pins. When you take out one can of soup, the rest roll forward. Be sure to click on the link to see the rest of her pantry.
Attach wire baskets to the inside of your pantry door for extra storage.
Need more room? Use every space available! Attach the lids of mason jars to the underside of a shelf. Store nuts, rice, coffee, etc. in the jars. Simply twist the jar off the lid when needed, then twist it back on.
Use small tension rods as pantry dividers so you don’t have to stack cutting boards, baking sheets, and trays on top of each other.
Use chalkboard paint (found in any home improvement store) on your panty’s inside door. You will be able to use your chalkboard door for menu ideas or grocery lists.
Contain unruly plastic bags with a dispenser hung on a hook. I will have an upcoming tutorial on how to make one of these soon.
Use a box or tin for a designated spot for all your spice and soup packets.

[...] This is a sure way to make certain that everything has its’ place! An outline of each tool is drawn onto the garage wall. Attach a nail to each picture for easy hanging. Also notice the shelf in this picture. Lids to canisters are attached beneath the shelf for storage of nails, screws, etc. (much like the idea for my pantry organization post). [...]
