How to Organize Your Closet (Without Spending a Lot of Money)
In the next couple of weeks I have big plans to organize three closets full of clothes. A quick search online for inspiring ideas lead me to custom closet plans & prices that, quite frankly, I am not willing to pay. I wanted to find simple tricks that will not cost a lot of money.
A more thorough search lead me to the following ideas:
Color code your closet: Arranging all your clothes by color will make your closet visually appealing & easier to navigate at the same time.
Divide Items: Use desk dividers to organize purses and other items on the shelves of your closet. This also enables your purses to stay up straight for a more “put together” look.
Use Baskets: Attach baskets to the closet’s inside wall or door to store small items like clutches, scarves, and gloves.
Over the Door Hooks: I love this closet remodel by The 36th Avenue. For your clothes closet, use an over the door hook to hold items you use frequently – like your current purse or jacket.
Organize Jewelry: Use shower curtain hooks to organize and store necklaces, and never have to untangle them again!
Optimize your closet’s vertical space: Use more than one rod. Tension rods are easy to install, and are relatively inexpensive. Attach two, one on top of the other, to maximize you closet’s vertical space.
